Our firm thinks of urban design as the opportunity to mesh the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, infrastructure planning and master planning together in a collaborative effort to create great spaces. Urban design is, by nature, a public process. To produce successful and meaningful design solutions, the early and ongoing participation of affected and interested citizens, community leaders, and civic organizations is critical. We are adept at constructing citizen engagement and consensus-building processes that are tailored to the special needs and requirements of each planning project, and each client we serve.
It is through this process that we rely on the collective memory of a place, rather than force new or inapt designs upon it.
Our practice recognizes the dynamics of Urban Design and Planning lie in one’s ability to live, work, play, and celebrate; where multitudes of uses can co-exist and form a cohesive community.
