ºlai Senior Associate Adrienne McCray Participates in APA Fall Conference Panel / November 12, 2012

On Saturday, the National Capital Area Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA) held its conference and chapter awards ceremony at Catholic University. Senior Associate Adrienne McCray participated in one of the six conference presentations, focused on improving access to bike facilities in the Ward 8 region of D.C. The Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) has advocated full integration of cycling into D.C.'s transportation system, which would allow bicycles on the Metro, more bike share stations, and more innovative cycling infrastructure.

Ft. Belvoir Community Hospital Named Best Health Care Project / October 08, 2012

In 2006, ºlai led the design process for the Ft. Belvoir Community Hospital, a project which has since received much praise and attention. This year, the hospital received Engineering News-Record's (ENR) award for Best Health Care project. All winning projects from ENR's 2012 "Best Projects" competition in the Mid-Atlantic region will be recognized in the December edition of ENR and during an awards ceremony on December 11th, 2012. ºlai Project, NoMa Capitol Square, is Featured by DCMud / October 04, 2012

Combining forces with JBG Companies, Cooper Carry, Perkins and Will and Pickard Chilton on the NoMa Capitol Square project, ºlai has undertaken the role of designing the urban streetscape. The project site is located a block away from the Washington, DC NoMA-Gallaudet University Metro station. The plans for this extensive project include a hotel, office space and residential units and will be built in phases.

ºlai Senior Associate Adrienne McCray is Featured in ASLA’s Landscape Architect’s Guide to Washington, DC / September 13, 2012

Senior Associate Adrienne McCray is one of 20 landscape architects featured in ASLA’s Landscape Architect’s Guide to Washington, DC. ASLA partnered with 20 nationally recognized landscape architects to create a guide that would explain various sites in the Washington, DC area from a landscape architect’s point of view and ultimately show how the design of each site influences a viewer's feelings or interaction with it.

Fort Belvoir Community Hospital is Awarded LEED Gold / August 16, 2012

ºlai is proud to announce that Fort Belvoir Community Hospital has been awarded LEED Gold Certification. This is the largest healthcare project in the world to achieve this award. In 2006, ºlai began spearheading the design process for the hospital, which the design jury for the Fairfax County Exceptional Design Awards Program has praised as "sweeping and well-choreographed. The entrance is open, roomy and bright with good courtyards." Learn more about the project and its accomplishments here.
