The construction of the UCC along Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue provided a new visual and physical terminus of the St. Elizabeth’s campus. Lee and Associates developed a site design that enhanced the public street appearance, provided exterior gathering spaces on site and addressed security requirements. A shallow swale reinforced by an earthen berm at the site perimeter collects storm water runoff while simultaneously enhancing site security. Generous walkways, hardscape plazas, and low curved feature walls are implemented throughout the site.
