• Lower Georgia Avenue Streetscape / WASHINGTON, DC

Transit

The Georgia Avenue corridor is one of the most traveled streets in the District of Colombia, providing connections from the National Mall and Downtown DC to Silver Spring, MD. The new streetscape design improves pedestrian safety and connectivity throughout the corridor, incorporates low impact design strategies, and historically-accurate visual enhancements. The design process included a series of community outreach meetings, from which the site was divided into four unique character areas. Unique paving patterns, open space and planting areas, site furnishing, and artwork help tie these character areas together into a seamless streetscape design.
